About Us

The Dawoodi Bohra community is a global Muslim community rooted in tradition and service, guided by His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin. Members are encouraged to lead meaningful lives focused on learning, ethical conduct, and contribution to society.

In Chennai, the Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat Trust represents the local community's social, cultural, and welfare activities under the banner of Anjuman E Mohammedi Chennai. The Dawoodi Bohras have historical roots in Chennai dating back over 200 years, contributing to the city’s cultural and economic life.

Key Activities & Initiatives

Community Support – Welfare work, service to the needy, and inclusive programs that help citizens of all backgrounds.

Religious Gatherings – The Trust supports Ashara Mubaraka congregations in Chennai, where community members gather for reflection, learning, and unity. This significant event was hosted in Chennai this year for the first time in 50 years, drawing tens of thousands of attendees.

Environmental & Social Campaigns – Initiatives like waste collection and “no plastics” campaigns reflect a focus on sustainability and civic responsibility.

Community Kitchen & Food Security – Programs serving meals and addressing hunger have been part of broader social support services.
